Each piece begins it’s journey in Rachelle’s studio in beautiful Lakeland, Florida. Rachelle hand picks every flower, leaf, fruit, and stem that goes into each page. She carefully arranges the natural pieces, nestles them in spreads of cotton paper, and boils them for hours. Once this process is complete, she thoughtfully selects each spread and hand-stitches them together to make the final product. The result is a liberation of nature’s essence and a physical expression of it’s aura. On each page you will discover a beautiful blend of colors, a range of textures and impressions, and a never-ending source of inspiration.

You are invited to use the journals, sketchbooks, and stationery however you see fit. Some use the journals to practice mindfulness, writing down their thoughts, dreams, and aspirations, while others use them for gratitude or meditation journals. Others fill the pages with photos and memories, or let their friends and family fill the pages by using them as guest books at weddings or celebrations of life. Some resolve to leave them blank and peruse the pages for inspiration, relaxation, or just to have something beautiful to look at everyday. Purple Inspire

Artist Rachelle Eason

Rachelle has been an artist all her life, but her eco-staining journey began in 2006 on her farm in North Carolina. She was given some freshly-sheared wool from her friend on a nearby farm. She attempted to dye the wool by boiling it with fruits and leaves from her persimmon trees, held in place by a piece of paper and a rock. Although the wool did not dye, the paper did.

Rachelle began experimenting with all types of plants from around the farm. Shortly after, she opened a pottery studio and decided to put her plant-staining discovery aside to focus on her thriving new business. Several years later, Rachelle and her family moved to Florida. She finally gave herself the time she needed to fully explore the possibilities of eco-staining. She conducted countless hours of research alongside hands-on trial and error, and started to understand the science, as well as the required techniques, to develop the process into an art.

Rachelle has spent over a decade perfecting her art and mastering the process. She has discovered the nuances that can influence the end result, such as the species of plant, the region it was harvested from, during which season it was harvested, and the combination of plants being used together. These seemingly small factors can have a big impact on the outcome.

Although every piece Rachelle creates is unique from the next, they all share one fundamental element: they are expressions of the beauty that resides deep within nature.

Her mission as an artist is to inspire life long enrichment through art and to connect you with nature to nourish health and well being!

The journey continues

True art is an extension of the artist; in essence, their soul. We met Rachelle several years back. Actually, we “met” her work. And later we had the opportunity to meet Rachelle, the artist. It was an easy, almost instant, connection with her and her creative work. She brings people together and connects us with time, place, texture, color, and the earth.

As her journey and story continues, we are looking forward to seeing what’s next and experiencing the world through Rachelle’s hands and spirit.

In the fast pace of life, we encourage you to slow down; stop, if you can and stay a bit. And look, just not with your eyes. Listen...just not with your ears. Can you hear the whisper?

The first time I saw a Rachelle Eason plant-stained journal I was moved in a way that I can’t explain. Their beauty touched me like no other art has. Since my first encounter with them I have purchased at least a dozen, and plan on purchasing many more. Every time I can’t decide what to give someone as a gift and I want to make it extra special, I give a Rachelle Eason plant-stained journal. It’s the perfect, hand-made gift of art. One of my friends burst into tears at the beauty of her journal. She was moved just like I was. I have had the chance to meet Rachelle several times and her sweet spirit adds to the beauty of her journals. I know how much of her heart and soul has gone into them. They are more than journals. They can become pieces of art displayed in many unique ways in your home, photo albums or scrapbooks, or as I am currently using one, as a piece of beauty to bring calm to your soul. I love and appreciate the art of Rachelle Eason and hope and pray that others will be moved by it and see the beauty in life that it inspires.

I felt an instant connection to Rachelle and her art the first time we met at an art show. Her passion and enthusiasm for her art is contagious! I love that she uses natural materials to stain papers and the colors and shapes that she creates are beautiful. I started with 3 journals (for myself and my daughters) and also some stationery. The recipients of my notes on Rachelle's plant stained paper always ask where I found such a unique product. We now have a large matted and framed print hanging in our main living area. Guest and visitors always comment on our one of a kind piece of art.

If you desire the freshness of nature, but require that beauty to have a longer life span than that of a fresh flower - Rachelle Eason journals are the perfect blend. The most amazing flowers are magically transformed on to paper so that they can remain in your life or on your walls or desk. They transform paper into a soothing piece of art that will pull you in. You will be totally drawn to the journals but, understand that you will hesitate for a moment before you write the first word. Once you do, you will be hooked. Or ... choose to frame a piece of this magical paper, and it will smooth your nerves for years to come. I say choose both.

For several years I have been enjoying Rachelle’s special art! Ihave always loved nature and flowers in particular. Her reuse of flowers and plants in her work gives it a fresh natural aspect and is also eco-friendly. I have purchased several of her plant-stained journals and they are filled with wonderful detail. From the varied stains in the pages , to the imaginative front covers, to the colorful threads used to bind the spines , you can easily see she puts her heart into her work . Rachelle has a special unique eye for beauty and can pull it forth into many different mediums including paper and ceramics. Meeting Rachelle and obtaining some of her art has brought me much happiness and tranquility.

I had the pleasure of meeting the talented Rachelle at Epcot’s Flower and Garden Festival. I was lucky enough to purchase one of her beautiful handmade books made with flowers. I can’t say enough about it, her work is fascinating and each page in the journal is blooming with flowers and rich colors.
